Have you ever found a baby bird on the ground that seemed too young to be out of the nest? It’s a common situation, and we’re excited to welcome Errolyn Martin, a licensed wildlife rescue and rehabilitator, back to the store to help you know exactly what to do. She will explain how to tell the difference between a hatchling, nestling, and fledgling, and how to determine whether the bird truly needs help. This will be a very informative presentation filled with helpful guidance that every bird lover should know.

We’re excited to once again welcome Micki and her three wonderful educational ambassadors to our store! Come meet Trevor, a screech owl; Journey, a Broad-winged Hawk; and Harmony, a Red-tailed Hawk, and hear their incredible stories.

April 4th at 1:30 Mysteries of Migration with Melanie Furr

This special presentation explores the who, what, when, why and how of bird migration. We will also learn how scientists study migration, the hazards birds face on their journeys and ways we can help.

May 3rd at 1:30 Mushrooms: Common, Consumable or Just Kooky?

Rose Guerra will be here to cover basic mushroom identification, common mushrooms (including common edibles) and some of the more unique Georgia mushrooms.

June 27th at 10:30 Gardening For The Birds

Trecia Neal of Green Gardens Education and Designs and Wild Roots Native Nursery will be here to teach us how to incorporate native plants into our gardens and create habitats that truly cater to the birds. She will also bring a small selection of bird-friendly plants that will be available for purchase for those who are interested.
