Trecia Neal of Green Gardens Education and Designs and Wild Roots Native Nursery will be here to teach us how to incorporate native plants into our gardens and create habitats that truly cater to the birds. She will also bring a small selection of bird-friendly plants that will be available for purchase for those who are interested.
July 18th at 10:30 Presentation on Butterflies Join us for a special presentation with Jack Price, a Master Naturalist and volunteer at the butterfly exhibit at Smith Gilbert Gardens. He will be sharing his knowledge about pollinators-with a special focus on butterflies. Butterflies are not only beautiful to watch, but they also play an important role in pollinating plants, alongside many other animals. Come learn about the pollination process, discover who our pollinators are, and explore the challenges they are currently facing.
July 18th at 2:00 Georgia Aviary-A Free-Flight Sanctuary for Rescued Parrots
August 8th at 11:00 Presentation on Native Bees Join us for an engaging and educational program with Becky Griffin, the National Coordinator for the Great Southeast Pollinator Census. She will be discussing native bees—specifically mason bees and leaf-cutter bees—and why these incredible pollinators are so beneficial to our environment. These gentle, fascinating bees play a vital role in pollination and are a wonderful addition to any backyard habitat.
